Test results

We had the results back from Paul on Tuesday, though I wasn't able to talk to him until today.

The results are actually a bit better than at his last lab test in March, though still slightly elevated still compared to normal results. But Paul wasn't really worried about that.

After a lengthy discussion about possible causes and possible further tests (Paul was very patient in that respect...), I decided to change Dylan's diet to Royal Canin Medium Mature 25, which contains still good protein levels (25%), but has a third less phosphorus than Timberwolf at 0.6% compared to 0.9%. This should make life a bit easier for the kidneys without restricting the protein levels further.

I will also continue to watch Dylan for another couple of months, in particular also his behaviour (aggression). Should that get worse or should the drinking get worse (which - touch wood - has been fine over the last couple of days), then we will look further, starting with a thyroid test. Paul was talking about a more extensive test than the simple 3-panel test, but not the actual 6-panel test that I am after. We will have to discuss this further should it come to this.

For now, Dylan is happy as Larry, full of energy and doing great! God only knows what is going on with him... I just hope that it is me being too paranoid about things - particularly after he ended up on the drip last time! Only the future will tell!
